Dear Cousin,
I hope you
will pardon my delay in not answering your letter of October 22nd at
an earlier date. I was so busy that
really I did not have any time to answer you earlier.
In regards to
the postal card you sent me. I would
say that the pictures thereon are Marg’t Rose, yourself, Roseabelle Byrne,
James Byrne, Kathleen Byrne and John Hugh Byrne, have me know in your next
letter if the above names are correct.
Glad to know that you enjoyed yourself to the utmost capacity while you
were in Dublin. I guess it is a pretty
lively City much more than Newry I am sure.
I spent ten
days in New York last month had a very good time and enjoyed myself in many
ways. Would say that N York is the greatest City in the world and it is a very
gay old place indeed ha, ha, ha. Peter,
life is so short whenever you stop to think, and I believe that a man should
have all the enjoyment and fun that he can possibly have while he is living not
saying that I am enjoying myself as well as I would like to.
We are having
very bad weather here and it is in no way suitable for business, which has been
very slow for the past few weeks but I hope to see an improvement very
soon. Hoping this will find yourself,
your Father, Margaret Rose and Uncle James in the enjoyment of good health as
George, Leo and myself are all well here at present Thank God.
A Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all and many of them is the earnest wish
of your Cousin.
