Charles B Strain; Allegheny; Jan 7th, 1905

Dear Uncles,

I received your very welcome letter in due time and was very glad to see by it that you, Uncle William, Uncle James, Margaret Rose, Peter and all other friends arround Creevy are enjoying good health.  A blessing which it leaves Father, Mother, George, Leo and myself enjoy here at present Thank God. L & I received your papers this evening and George received his also and we got the Christmass cards that Margaret Rose sent us and are very thankfull for them.  Uncle John meet us in New York and then he had to go to his work about 12 o’clock and he was to send Uncle Pat to us best he did not come then.  We meet Uncle John and Pat and cousin Charles in the Scinclair Hotel that night.  Then we all went out for a walk and Uncle Pat took us down to his house and we had tea their.  He told us he would have kept us only he had no room for us we were not out at Uncle John’s house but none of them asked us for to stay a few days with them.  Father O’Hare is not well at present he is going to the hospital he has got the American lagrip (?) that is what they call it here pleurisy is the right name of it.  I was away today seeing about a job in the tobacco and cigars business, but the man could not take me for a week or so.  Graham gave ten dollars to Father Rooney and is going to help to collect some money for him.  We all joined in sending you medals each and we sent some for W J Mrs McCullough and Rbt John and also I suppose you will have got them again you get this letter I want you to send me my confirmation medal as I would like to have it folded up in a newspaper there is about 16 inches snow here at present.  I will write you a longer letter next time as I do not know any more news to send at present.  Remember me to Wm John Mrs & Rbt John and all other friends around Creevy.  Send me some shamrocks for St Patrick’s Day.
